Kareena Kapoor

When we talk about ethnic looks, Kareena's ‘Punjab di kuddi’ act in Jab We Met immediately fills our mind. Her long t-shirts on Patiala salwars, churidar and kurtas over jeans made waves with the fashion conscious college-goers. Apart from this, her look in the Salman Khan starrer Bodyguard where she teamed long knee-length kurtas with loose salwars and beautiful jhumkas made new style statements in the world of ethnic wear. She continues her tryst with traditional looks even in her latest upcoming film Gori Tere Pyaar Mein.

Sonam Kapoor

While talking about fashion, be it desi or international, Sonam’s name cannot be skipped. This gorgeous diva is a ‘dream come true’ for Indian designers. She can carry off everything from a long kurta and an anarkali to a traditionally draped saree, whether it is onscreen or off. Take a look at her stylish avatars in Aisha or traditional looks in Raanjhanaa and you realise her fashion statement is always worth drawing inspiration from.

Deepika Padukone

She started off with the blockbuster hit Om Shanti Om, where her look as Shanti Priya was much appreciated. She wore retro style lehengas, suits and sarees. The grace with which she carried these looks made them quite popular. After that, she wore more Indian outfits in Love Aaj Kal. The loose anarkali kurtas with slacks and jeans, which she sported in the song chor bazaari, along with the colourful jholas and bangles is definitely something you can get inspired from as well.

Vidya Balan

Also known as designer Sabyasachi’s living mannequin; starting right from her debut role in Parineeta, no one can drape a saree the way this Bollywood diva does! The Bengali look with red coloured bindis and lipstick and deep neck blouse cuts became very popular after Parineeta. Though her western wear has always been criticised, her traditional avatars has been a trendsetter for many. Also, you will see her wearing only Kanjeevaram sarees with flowers in her hair at all award functions.

Sonakshi Sinha

Shotgun Shatrugan Sinha’s daughter Sonakshi has surely taken the industry over by a storm. Ever since her first movie Dabangg, her girl next door image has won many hearts. Her traditional saree looks in both Dabangg and its sequel, and in Lootera, won her many applauds. Even her typical Punjabi kudi look in Son Of Sardaar as well as Rowdy Rathore where she wore salwar kameez and kurtas have been worth commending.
So, take some inspiration from the traditional looks of these Bollywood divas while planning your outfits for this wedding season!
